To us it seems so obvious that the golf swing is being made so complicated and technical, you just wish you could stop anyone taking up golf or struggling, getting in all these most unnatural positions.
Doing exactly that, with at one time three golf pro's at the same time with all sorts of gadgets attached to your wrist and if that clicks being told that you are not doing it correctly or being wired up to a Computer where the golf pro can then see every moving part of your golf swing to see if it is being executed correctly!! And then, after that, you would leave the lesson not only playing worse than you arrived, feeling very frustrated with yourself and thinking why can't I get this golf swing! That's apart from hours wasted on the range trying to perfect what I had been shown, when all I needed to do was move my feet and head, relax and play naturally.
I, for one would never have been able to learn to swing a golf club and enjoy this endlessly fascinating game without the simple coaching techniques espoused by you and David at Manston. I spend hours listening to outdated ideas on many courses.
I played in a 4 ball at Stoke by Nayland last year. I had the highest handicap - 22. Towards the end of the round one of the other players asked me if I had ever had a lesson because he noted that I moved my left foot a lot. Something not allowed apparently! I told him about your coaching methods. He noted that I seemed very relaxed and drove pretty straight most of the time. I went on to card 91 with 5 pars. Won the game by 5 shots. Couldn't stop laughing. Made the conversation at evening meal very interesting.
Pity I haven't an analogy with 3 R's but 2 will have to do, it's been a Revelation and a Revolution to my game, I have never struck the ball so well, one of my regular playing partners used the word "astounded"to qualify the change in my play.
So, to sum up, I thank the day I came across your site;serendipity at work by Googling!
I'm now looking forward to many more years of enjoyment of a game I've always loved, but with greater pleasure than I ever imagined.
67 year-old Ken D from N. Yorkshire -23 handicap(down to 20 in 6 weeks since the 3-day course)
My name is Dan Bowers, age 64, about a mid-20 handicap golfer from Anaheim, California, U.S.A. I took up the game of golf as I was approaching my 40th birthday as a means to socialize and just have a good time with my fellow teachers after a hard week in the classroom. I'm mostly self-taught as a golfer, but I had a few lessons here and there along the way. So I learned all the conventional ways to swing a golf club in a similar way that Ben Hogan presented in his famous book on the fundamentals of golf.
Finally, last year after coming home from another painful round of golf, I was thinking that maybe I should use my computer to research a better swing, an easier swing for senior golfers like me who are encountering more physical demands, like back pain, when they play. So, knowing that I prefer a visual way of learning, I went to YouTube on the computer, and typed in 'Easiest Swing for Seniors.' Several video clip options appeared, but I was drawn to Brian's because of the utter simplicity and ease in which he hit the golf ball. Here was a man about my age who had gone through back surgery making the swing look so effortless and carefree. Although the clip came with sound, the only sound was that of the golf ball being sweetly struck. Brian didn't have to say a word, since his swing spoke volumes.
I learned from the YouTube site that Brian had authored a book, 'Positive Impact Golf.' After viewing the clip I knew I wanted to find out more about this effortless way of swinging, and so I ordered the book, read it, and was duly impressed enough to take up Brian's offer he gives readers to e-mail him for their feedback. Brian's e-mail response was very special, because I cannot recall any time in my life when an author of a book I had just read made personal contact with me. I learned from Brian that he was just beginning something new: 'E-Mail Coaching,' that might appeal to people like me who were some distance removed from his golf centre in England.
At first I hesitated to enlist Brian's new e-mail coaching service because I didn't feel very confident in my ability to shoot video, and wasn't even sure about how one goes about attaching video files via e-mail. But these concerns vanished with just a little practice, and now I'm convinced that video is one of the best ways to really learn and own your swing. I knew from reading Brian's book that changes needed to be made both in how I swing and how I approach the game. Sometimes when we try to make changes on our own we may deceive ourselves into thinking 'we got it' when we really don't. Video doesn't lie, and to have the eyes of an expert looking-on can really be helpful. I can truly attest that Brian has helped me see my swing in ways that I never could if I had merely read his book and tried to implement changes just on my own.
Brian's 'la danse du golf' exercise is so simple, and yet so deep and perfect in that it ingrains the right movement and rhythm one should have in their swing. The beauty of Brian's method is that it removes the stressful coil of the swing with freedom of movement. This has been very key in helping me rid my body of back pain. The way I formerly coiled-up on the backswing, and flailed my arms, elbows, and hands up high on an incomplete follow through were playing havoc with my back. In my former follow through I left no room between my shoulder and chin as I finished with hands high, and feeling somewhat strangled as the club wrapped around. The key to a more comfortable swing including the very important follow through has been through video. Brian is able to make helpful suggestions after watching my video, and then he can e-mail you back with video to further illustrate the proper technique. This has been incredibly helpful.
'Positive Impact Golf' has granted me the permission I needed to hear that it's OK to move in the golf swing. This means it's OK to move the feet, and lift your heel; That it's OK to bend your arms and elbows, and it's OK to let your head move. Prior to reading Brian's book I felt stuck with all the tension by trying too hard to keep everything so still and straight. But it is this tension, which is at the root of poor golf shots and injuries. Trying to figure all this out on my own would not have brought me to where I am today with the progress that I am seeing and feeling. Having a coach like Brian in your corner is highly recommended.
I've now had 3 months of e-mail coaching with Brian Sparks, and I am absolutely delighted with the service he provides. I'm amazed at the individual attention he has given me, and the amount of words we've been able to exchange has been very impressive. The bottom line is that I am now enjoying the game more; I understand my swing better, and those aches and pains in my back have subsided. These past 3 months have come and gone so fast, and I've learned so much which is why I am extending my participation for several more months. There's so much to learn and master, and why stop here when you have the eyes of an expert standing nearby willing to help and illuminate.

I thought I would share with you all that I have had a positive start to my golf I won the Trophy competition on Tuesday with 38 points with a couple of blobs. I have been cut now to 16.6 from 18.2, the first cut in three years.
It was a great day and even with a couple of blobs it was still a great day. Thank you Brian.

Cameron Smith "Amazing shot 5 under today after watching..... Always been a feel player and could not believe the difference - don't even feel tired no loss of distance either - always been a visual learner too so video a real help, thanks.
yunkmaster I also bought his book and it is a must buy. I am hitting the ball great and feel the most relaxed and comfortable I have ever been while playing golf. Again, you have to buy this book and start forgetting everything you hear others advise and especially those golf tips in magazines and on television. This will improve your game. Beyond thought I bought your book. Thank you, I instantly knew I had my natural swing back!!!
ThirdTimeOut Bought the book 3 weeks ago. Best money I have ever spent on golf. I can play golf again without feeling like I need to be put in traction the next day. rrasmussen32 The book is fantastic. I tried this swing after spraying the ball all over the course. It works, no strain or pain and best of all the ball goes straight. Jim JimS I just wish Mr. Penick could have seen this!

Graham Sinclair in short, Brian is saying the earth is round, when we all believe it is flat.
ImDrDoom Hey...I'm an older guy and this really works. I've always hit the ball a long way with my violent swing. But, I tried this easy move and I'm hitting it just as far with half the effort and better accuracy. Thanks for this video...it's the best I've seen. Would love to see more.
